On September 5, 2011, reports were made rumoring Randy Moss' return to the NFL. NBC Sports reports that Moss regrets leaving the Patriots in 2010, and would only consider coming out of retirement if there was an offer from New England. The question now is, do the Patriots want Moss back? Tom Brady was quoted via the Boston Herald stating, "I love Randy Moss, he's one of the greatest receivers in the history of the game, one of the greatest players I've had a chance to play with. But unfortunately, I don't make personnel decisions." It's clear that Brady would not mind seeing Moss back in a Patriots jersey, but does Bill Belichick feel the same way? If the Patriots did not want Moss in 2010, why would they want him in 2011?
Personally, I am not a fan of athletes coming out of retirement shortly after they announced their retirement. Randy Moss coming back to the game would start a retirement cycle like Brett Favre. Should Moss stay retired or consider playing for the Patriots if the opportunity presented itself?
I am a Miami Dolphins fan and when I read this and found out Moss would like to go back with the Patriots, it baffled me. Moss, Ochocinco, and Welker all on the same team with a veteran quarterback like Tom Brady, that is a scary combination, I think they would become the Superbowl favorite and it would be to easy for them to be unstoppable on the offensive end. I think Bill Bellichek is a smart guy and I don't feel he is going to want to bring Moss back into his organization. They have young stars at wide receiver like Brandon Tate and Julian Edelman that both have potential to be animals. I agree that it is becoming ridiculous how players keep jumping in and out of retirement make a decision and stick with it
ReplyDeleteI am a huge Brett Farve and think he is one of the greatest players in the game. Although all this has happened, he should ahonor his decision and stay in retirement. I think that Moss should do the same thing as well. If they make the decision ot retire, they should up hold it and move on. Not every player can stay in the NFL forever and they have to understand that their career has ended once they leave.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the Patriots could not handle Moss, Ochocinco, and Haynesworth on the same team especially under Belichick. THat would be too much drama for one organization to handle. Moss needs to stay in retirement and just accept that he has to watch his team from the sidelines instead of on the field.
